On the hunt for a great restaurant that feeds the body, mind and soul? Rest assured, Plant Life Balance has found the ultimate green place that will take care of you, your diet and your mental health.
Enter: Transformer, in Melbourne’s snazzy Fitzroy. Operating on a strictly plant-based cuisine, this cool space and its menu will have you dreaming in green.
A no-brainer for the slick inner-city vegetarians, Transformer is where the cool cats flock to to experiment with flavours that are inspired by the Middle East, Mediterranean and the Asian cuisine.
Using the mould of an old warehouse, Transformer has done exactly what its name suggests – you’ll (surprisedly) walk into a graffiti-designed building to be greeted by an eclectic, cool restaurant.

The warmer months are finally here. Perfect for lunch or dinner in our leafy courtyard. Did you know it was the existing overgrown courtyard that inspired the interior design at #TransformerFitzroy. We wanted to extend the experience of the garden inside and thanks to the team at @breathearchitecture & @fitzroynursery we were able to do just that! ?? Open for lunch 12-3pm & dinner from 5.30pm. . . . . #forkyeah #realfood #localfood #vegetarian #eatclean #feedfeed #foodphotography #chefsofinstagram #dinner #melbourneeats #melbournefoodie #melbournefood #melbournetodo #eatmelbourne #urbanlisted #visitmelbourne #melbourne #melbournelife #melbournerestaurant #foodiemelbourne #ilovemelbourne #melbournemade #melbmoment #transformerfitzroy #innovativeplantbaseddining #whatsoninmelbourne
The space features high ceilings and incredible vertical green walls inside the restaurant, as well as stunning concrete planter boxes around the tables and hanging from above patrons’ heads.
They’ve dug deep, so you can dig in. So, what are you waiting for?
