Plant Life Balance

Plant-based activities to try this weekend

Some of us are great at it, but some of us could definitely do this more often – spending more meaningful time with our favourite people, sharing an experience, a meal or even a gift.

As we creep towards the middle of the year, take every chance you can to slow down and treat yourself and your loved ones to some quality time together. And what better way to do that than with a plant-based activity, or in a leafy location? Check out our list of favourites below and book in a date with that person, whether it’s mum or dad, a friend or a partner.

Plant Life Balance Places

We’ve toiled tirelessly through Australia’s greenest cafes and restaurants, enduring the nation’s best lattes, sandwiches and nourish bowls, so you can find the perfect spot to spend some quality one-on-one time with your date. Check out our national list of Places or hit up these lush classics:

The Grounds of Alexandria (Sydney)

Grub Fitzroy (Melbourne)

Good Day (Adelaide)

Bar Botanik (Perth)

Three Blue Ducks (Brisbane)

Morning Glory (Canberra)

Buy them a plant

The gift that keeps on growing, plants as the best gifts. Drop into your nearest Plant Life Balance-accredited nursery or see our recommendations here.

Go to a plant workshop together

Learning to garden together is a thing of joy and there are plant-related workshops everywhere all year ‘round. You could try terrarium building, botanical watercolour painting, pot hanger weaving, veggie-gardening – the options are endless!

Forest bathing

We discovered the Japanese practice of ‘forest bathing’ recently and we must say it made us feel beyond tranquil (can you be addicted to walking in nature?). Anyway, introduce your companion to this terrific pastime by taking a long, slow stroll through a national park or botanic garden.

Buy them eco experience (and hope they invite you)

We’ve been compiling lists of great weekend locations for green getaways. For some occasions, they are a very generous gift, for others it could be the one-on-one time you’ve been craving for months. Here’s our list.

Looking for quick and easy? Why not start by buying them a plant, and go from there. Check our nursery finder to find your closest Plant Life Balance-accredited nursery.
