If your post-work commute has been cancelled because you’re working from home, reclaim that time for some wholesome, plant-based cooking. 

The weather is cooling and the rain is falling, which can can only mean one thing… that autumn has well and truly arrived!

Arguably one of the most comforting food types in the cooler half of the year, we’ve rounded up our favourite plant-based soups to get you through the coming months.

How good is soup?

Soup is the best (and an easy) dish to turn to for a delicious light lunch or a soothing sign-off to the night. A healthier alternative to caffeine, soups can contain the nutrients that your body loves while still warming up your insides.

Plant-based soups are a great meal option in autumn, as they are a super easy way to get your nutritional intake in the one hit. Soups full of fibrous vegetables, beans and lentils can also act as natural healers and assist with digestion issues. Plus, they are generally super easy to cook and store.

Orientalische Kichererbsensuppe | Chickpeas soup oriental #soup #vegan #oriental #chickpeas #spicy #yummy #tasty #lecker #good #food #follow #canonphotography #vegetarian #vegetarisch #foodies #foodphotography #dinner #friends #family #instafoodies #carrots #love Rezept 3 Dosen Kichererbsen 4-5 Möhren 2-3 Zwiebeln 2 Dosen gehackte Tomaten 1,3l Brühe 1 kl. Stück Ingwer 1/2TL Kreuzkümmel, Knoblauch, Kurkuma Salz, Pfeffer/ Chilli 2-3 Prisen Zimt 1 Becher Creme fraiche Koriander Zubereitung 1. Zwiebeln schälen und grob würfeln. 4 Möhren halbieren und in Scheiben schneiden. Beides in einem Topf in Öl andünsten. 2. Kichererbsen abgießen und 5-6EL davon zurückbehalten. Den Rest in den Topf geben. Ingwer schälen und grob hacken. Auch zugeben. 3. Tomaten und Brühe zugeben und alles mindestens 20 Minuten köcheln lassen, damit die Möhren weich werden. 4. Die übrige Möhre in kleine Würfel schneiden und mit den restlichen Kichererbsen in Butter anschwitzen. 5. Die Suppe pürieren und mit den Gewürzen gut abschmecken. Ist sie zu dick, gibt man Wasser dazu. 6. Suppe auf Teller verteilen, einen Klecks Creme fraiche sowie das Möhren-Kichererbsen-Topping und gehackten Koriander.

Curry noodle soup

Any soup with curry powder in it is sure to do you a world of good – curry powder has anti-inflammatory properties, may improve heart, brain and digestive health, and contains powerful antioxidants.

Curry noodle soup with tofu! Who wants a bowl for dinner? Xx Curry noodle soup 2 cloves garlic, minced 5 oz mushrooms, chopped 1/2 medium zucchini, chopped 2 tbsp tomato paste 1 tsp cumin 1/2 tin coconut milk 1/2 cup veggie broth 1 serving noodles, cooked 1 tbsp tamari 1 tsp turmeric 2 tsp curry powder Tofu and cilantro, to serve Add the garlic and the mushrooms to a non-stick frying pan, and sauté for 2-3 minutes. Add the zucchini, tomato paste, cumin, and continue to sauté for a couple minutes more until the veggies soften. Then, pour in the coconut milk and veggie broth, stir for 1-2 minutes, then add a serving of cooked noodles of your choice, tamari, turmeric and curry powder. A great soup to make after a visit to the farmers market!! 👩🏻‍🌾Super fresh and ENERGIZING!!👀 •••••••••••••••• Ingredients: •2 leeks, chopped •3 garlic cloves, chopped •2 stalks celery, chopped •2 large heads broccoli, finely chopped •1-2 cups frozen peas •2 big handfuls spinach •handful of parsley •4 cups water •salt & pepper •••••••••••••••• 1. Sauté all the veggies in a large pot 2. Season well and add water 3. Reduce heat to low and cook 8 minutes 4. Let it cool slightly, then blend in high speed blender until smooth. 5. Pumpkin soup

Cauliflower soup

Cauliflower is a bit of an unsung hero – it’s a vegetable that’s low in calories but extremely high in nutrients. It actually contains just about every vitamin and mineral you need!

It’s also a very versatile vegetable meaning it’s an easy one to add into your diet.
