Plant Life Balance

From a chance seedling to one of Queensland’s brightest backyard varieties

Grevillea ‘Orange Marmalade’ arose as a chance seedling in a Queensland nursery with the probable parentage of two other Queensland species G. venusta and G. glossadenia. All three originate from, and best grow in the warm climates of Queensland.

Position

Grevillea ‘Orange Marmalade’ is sun-loving, hybrid shrub variety originating in Queensland. It loves being grown in full sun in a well-draining soil.

Care

Orange Marmalade doesn’t mind waiting between drinks. Fast growing and low maintenance, Orange Marmalade is happy to be pretty much left alone once established and will grow approximately 2×2 metres.

What else should I know?

Orange Marmalade is named for its stunning orange flowers. Works brilliantly as a screening or informal hedge plant, it is a great addition to native gardens in warmer climates where it will work a treat attracting butterflies, birds and insect life.

Orange Marmalade is one of the varieties recommended for Australian-native themed backyards in the Plant Life Balance 2020 Plant Trend Report. For more information on this variety, including if its appropriate for your region, have a chat with your local Plant Life Balance accredited nursery.
